SPRING/SUMMER 2007

Big Bay Outfitters, formally known as North Country Outfitters, has been owned and operated by Kristi Mills and Bill Kinjorski since 2002. This old landmark was once a fully operating jail, township hall and fire department. Presently, it is 2500 square-feet of retail space offering outdoor adventure gear, functional outdoor clothing, "Big Bay" clothing and hats, fishing tackle and live bait, gifts and local art, maps, and directional information. And the home of Anatomy of a Canoe, a paddle sport shop.

It sounds like a lot going on and there's more! Red Town Rentals offers fishing boats, pontoon, canoe, and kayak rentals as well as area tour and guide service. Stop in and find out what's going on in Big Bay. We have the latest weather and road conditions, Lake Independence fishing and Lake Superior marine reports as well as a few tall tales about the area and it's history.

Big Bay is at the end of the road County Road 550 that is, and the gateway into the Huron Mountains. Drive up 510 and out onto the Yellow Dog Plains via the AAA to experience wilderness and country roads. Visit waterfalls and mountaintops, sparkling rivers and wildlife. We have it all right here, year round. Come on up!
